VENUE
Tampere is conveniently located in southern Finland, approximately 200
kilometers from the capital Helsinki. The city is readily reached with
direct connections from several European cities, including Stockholm,
Copenhagen, London and Frankfurt. Furthermore, the location enjoys the
beautiful nature offering its best in the summertime.
The summer school is held at
Ahlman
institute, a nice location about four kilometers southeast of
downtown Tampere.

HOW TO GET THERE
It is easy to fly to Tampere via Helsinki, Stockholm or
Copenhagen. It is also easy to fly to Helsinki and take a train
or bus from there.
By air to Tampere:
There are direct flights to Tampere from Stockholm and Copenhagen
operated by Blue1. Also Ryanair has direct flights to Tampere from
Frankfurt (Hahn), London (Stansted), and Riga. Finnair has flights from
Helsinki to Tampere. From the airport you can take a taxi or the
airport bus. Ryanair has their own bus service.
By air to Helsinki:
Buses leave Helsinki-Vantaa airport for Tampere about once an hour
(timetable). The travel time is 2.5 - 3 hours and it costs 21 EUR
one-way. Alternatively, you can take a train from Tikkurila station or
Helsinki main railway station to Tampere. Finnish railways serve
Tampere frequently from several directions.
By bus: The
intercity buses (including the one from Helsinki airport) arrive at the
main bus station that is located a few hundred meters off the main
street, Hämeenkatu.
By car:
From downtown Tampere
to Ahlman Institute:
To get to the Ahlman institute, you can take a taxi or a local bus from
downtown (buses #6 and #12 run near the Ahlman institute). For more
