Abstract:

Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is increasing used in biomedical and clinical studies. Analysis of the MRS data is not straightforward due to complex systems and also partly unknown underlying biochemistry. Here we demonstrate how self-organizing maps (SOM) can be utilised in biomedical MRS. Their modelling power is illustrated by establishing lipoprotein lipid classification directly from 1H MR spectra of human blood plasma.
