About me

I work as a Research Scientist in the Systems Biology group at the Simons Center for Data Analysis in New York, NY, USA. I obtained a D.Sc. (Tech.) in computational biology under the supervision of Prof. Harri Lähdesmäki in November 2014. I had a position in the Finnish Doctoral Programme in Computational Sciences (FICS). During my doctoral studies I have spent a year (03/2012–02/2013) visiting the lab of Anjana Rao at La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology in La Jolla, CA, USA.

Research interests

Studying and modeling of transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, for example, the mechanims and effects of chromatin remodeling, alternative splicing, and RNA-binding molecules, especially in immune processes.
