Research Assistant
I am working as an Information Systems Specialist at the National Library of Finland, University of Helsinki. I am also pursuing my Master's thesis at the Department of ICS, Aalto. During the summer of 2013, I worked as part of the Computational Cognitive Systems Research Group under the instruction of Oskar Kohonen (PhD student, Aalto University) and the supervision of Professor Timo Honkela, on an information extraction tool fondly called 'Semantify' designed for web pages. Since January 2014, I have been working with the Environmental and Industrial Machine Learning Group in addition to being one of the Course Assistants for Information Visualization.
Previously I have worked as a Knowledge Engineer in an e-publishing company in India, developing tools for copy editors using Natural Language Processing. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from SRM University, India.
Hobbies: I am a football aficionado. I play as a center midfielder when I do. I also like to analyse football.
My latest research interests mainly focus on Dimensionality Reduction and Information Visualization. My long term interests include Machine learning for Natural Language Processing applications such as annotation modeling, sentiments and semantics. Text mining in general .
