PhD Researcher
I grew up in Fryazino which is in Moscow Region, Russia. I have graduated for M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University with a degree in physics. After several years of working in industry as a consultant and software developer I came to Finland to study machine learning and data mining. Currently I am a PhD researcher in Environmental and Industrial Machine Learning (EIML) Group.
I apply machine learning methods mostly for time series data. I am interested in the problem of long-term time series forecasting. Besides stantard one dimensional forecasting I deal with such aspects as including an external variables, multivariate time series, unevenly spaced time series. I use machine learning techniques as Neural Networks, K-NN, SVM, Gaussian Processes, Decision Trees as well as classical statistical methods such as ARIMA forecasting. Applications come from Astronomical, Environmental and Industrial domains. I'm also interested in analyzing network data and text mining.
